Next Thursday I am having a calendar class. These CD jewel case calendars make a great gift! I have people asking for new ones every year. Here is a look at this year's calendar.

Whew! Where did that last week go? It all passed in a blur for me. My husband was out of town on a business trip and my daughter was on a mission trip to New Orleans. That left me and my two boys at home. I spent the week as taxi cab driver getting them to everything they had going in their busy schedules and they had plenty! I went through a tank of gas in two days. It didn't leave much time for stamping that's for sure. I'm ready to get back to that.
My daughter was invited to a last minute birthday party for a guy friend of hers. Last year there was a party for him and we were told no gifts. So my daughter didn't bring a gift. It turns out she was the only one who didn't and she felt pretty stupid. So this year we are making up for it! We always like to give money or gift cards in an interesting way That way they can see you put time and effort into it even if it wasn't a present you bought in the store. I first saw this idea for a lei with money on it on Patty's blog. I tucked that in the back of my brain to try one day. Well, that one day came quicker than I thought! I couldn't tell how the money was attached so I googled money lei and ran across this.
It was a bit tedious to make but we had a team of my daughter, son Sam, and I working on it.
Here is how our money lei turned out.
Then my daughter said that her and this guy friend have an inside joke about deer. So I found this deer card I received in a swap(sorry, there was no name on the back) and I added the "my deer friend" sentiment by printing it out on the computer and punching it out with the new modern label punch that will be in the new catalog starting Wednesday, July 1! Here's the card.
I love papercrafting! It's so fun to make a gift and card that is so personal to the recipient!

This was the final project at our Mystery Hostess party Wednesday night. We made a simple fruit notecard and a folder to hold a set of notecards. A great gift idea! The closure of the folder is done by adhering the red grosgrain ribbon around the middle and leaving two loose ends hanging. Then I wrapped a designer brad from the silver hodgepodge hardware kit and bent the ends around the ribbon to hold it closed. The designer paper is from the Rockabilly paper pack. Crystal effects on the cherries is the perfect touch!

Today is day two of our Mega Stamp and Scrap Sale. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day in Minnesota and our sale was a huge success. We have plenty of stamps and scappin' stuff left! We hope for another great sale day today!

We have been enjoying some spring weather this week here in Minnesota. Today is the first official day of spring but it's starting out a little chilly in the 30's. It's also my son, Nicholas' birthday today. He turns 11. We are gearing up for a sleepover birthday party featuring the Wii, ping pong, and various other activities. The boys are plotting some showdowns on the Super Smash Bros Brawl. Pretty exciting stuff!
I thought I would post pictures of the class I held Wednesday night. The card box came from the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website. There are some great resources for us demos there. I CASE'd and tweaked cards I found on the web for the cards. I used the Raspberry Tart designer paper for most of the cards and carried that color scheme through the whole ensemble.

I have great news about my mom! They didn't find any cancer on her biopsy! I'm so relieved! My heart feels light! Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers! They really worked!
