Big Shot projects

About a week and a half ago I held my BIg Shot VIP event with my downline, Kristina, and our customers who earned it.  Here are the three projects we made.

 

This card was based on one I saw by  inglishrea on SCS.  Here is a link to her card.  I tweaked it a bit and put my own touches on it.  I changed the colors, embossed the front of the card with the finial press embossing folder.  I changed up the greeting and used the word window punch, modern label punch, and the large oval punch.  I also added half back pearls from the Pretties kit for the middle of the butterfly.

This next project is a little backpack made from the bag with scallops die. 

This idea came from Julia from Creative with Julia. 

Recipe: Paper:  From the Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' kit

Other:  chocolate chip narrow grosgrain ribbon, uniball white gel pen, crystal brad from the Pretties kit.

The final project was an idea that was on the Demonstrator website.  It was presented by Jacki Topa and it was on manipulating dies using the Movers and Shapers dies.

Paper:  Raspberry Lemonade designer paper, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White

Other:  Rich Razzleberry Polka dot ribbon, full heart punch, word window punch, modern label punch, tag from the matchbox die, stampin' dimensionals.

Stampin' Success Box

I saw a cute box on the cover of the monthly magazine Stampin' Up! demonstrators get and I knew I wanted to make it for my hostess today.  I used the textured Tango Tangerine cardstock.  I love how images look stamped on the textured cardstock and best of all it's part of this month's special!  I finally broke out the ribbon originals Pigtails ribbon pack. I've been hoarding this way too long.  You gotta love that kiwi kiss polka dot ribbon!  I used the Enjoy the Moment stamp set for the stamped images and the flourish on the top note die came from the Doodle This(or is it That?) stamp set.

The build a brad is the finishing touch in the middle of the flower.

Big Shot Projects

As I mentioned before, Sunday was my VIP Big Shot party for my customers and my downline's customers who have purchased the Big Shot starter kit from us or have spent $200 or more in Sizzix products from us.  We had 12 ladies here on Sunday.  We demoed a couple of things, had lots of samples, had pizza for dinner and made the following three projects.

This card is a CASE from the catalog on page 198.  I changed it a little bit and used the Oval All stamp set and the new scallop oval punch.  At Regionals they showed us if you spritzed your cardstock with water first, you get a better impression with the texturz plates.  I have heard this before but finally tried it.  I love the results.  The flowers are the Flowers Sizzlits decorative strips. 

This next project is three of the matchbox die stacked on top of each other.  I'm not sure who originated this idea of stacking the boxes.  I saw it on Gretchen Barron's blog and she credits Dianne Shiozaki  with it.  At any rate it's a very fun project!  We used Cameo Coral and Rose Red cardstock for the drawers.  We then wrapped them in Raspberry Tart designer paper and the new white ribbon in the catalog.  The drawers are punched with the 1/2" circle punch to give you something to pull them out with.

The final project was this flower pot card and it was the star of the show!  There are various versions floating around SCS but this one was created by my downline, Kristina.  We used the technique of running the embosslits through the big shot with designer paper and then sanding them with the sanding blocks to make them pop out more.  This was showed at Regionals too but I have seen this around before also.  The buttons are one of my favorite Sizzix sizzlets die.  We popped the middle one up with fun foam beneath the button.

Today starts off National Scrapbook month.  I have had the urge to scrapbook lately so this ties in nicely.  There are a couple of great specials from Stampin' Up! this month that I will report back with later.  Today I'm watching my 1 and 3 year old niece and I have my hands full!

Birthday in a Box

I ran across this idea about a year ago.  I can't remember who I CASE'd it from but isn't it fun?
I mailed this off to my friend, Ellen, for her birthday.  Her birthday was this past Sunday.  Hopefully, this will make up for being late!

I don't think Ellen reads my blog too often so I think I'm safe in posting this.  What a fun way to get a birthday greeting, huh?  I used the Party Hearty stamp set and some ribbon I had in my stash.  The tin I had in my stash too.

I'm looking forward to getting back to blogging and blog reading.  I know many of us took a break during the holidays.  I'm excited to see what everyone is up to!

Magnetic Calendar

This was a project I have been meaning to do for a long time.  I received a similar calendar at convention in a swap 2 years ago.  It's a cookie sheet magnetic calendar.  It is so much fun to make!  All of the numbers, months, and special days are on magnets.  All of the months you aren't using get stored in the back.  I'm offering this as a class on Tuesday, November 25.  If you are local to the Minneapolis area you are welcome to come but I only have enough materials for 10 people to come to the class.  This will be on a first come first serve basis so hurry!
