Valentines

I have been so busy in the past couple of days making Valetines for my 3 kids.  I made 27 atcs for my 8 year old Sam's class.

Then my 10 year old, Nicholas, said he wanted 30 for his class.  So I made these.

Then my 15 year old Rebecca, decided she wanted 14 Valentines for her friends.  So she helped me make these.

Then I felt the need to make something special for my two boys' teachers.  So I made these.

If all that wasn't enough I had to make 11 cards for a WOW card swap I was in.  I'll show you those later.  I also have a party to get ready for tonight.  This is the busiest mass producing I've done since convention swaps!  Whew!  A whole lotta stampin' going on around here!

Love is in the Air!

How are your holidays shaping up?  I know for a lot of us we have already started celebrating.  We celebrated Christmas with my father-in-law and his wife yesterday.  It was kind of bittersweet because they announced this was the last year they were able to host it.  They are getting up there in years and just can't do it anymore.  We'll still get together but at someone else's house.  We already host 3 Christmas parties in December so we wont be volunteering to host it every year but we will certainly take our turn!

In preparation for the next Christmas celebration I have been putting together some scrapbooking ensembles for the scrapbookers on my list.  I was playing with my Sizzix Bigshot, chipboard, fun foam and designer paper.  I made some flowers with dimension for one of the gifts.  I am giving my niece some scrapbooking supplies including the Sweet Always designer paper pack.  I made her some chipboard flowers from the Stampin' Up! exclusive die Baskets and Blooms.  They are attached to the paper with stampin' dimensionals so she will be able to just pull them off and place them on her page where she wants them and they will match her papers!
Here are the flowers and some sizzix buttons with fun foam underneath to give them dimension, and a chipboard scallop with a sneak peek at an image from a new level 3 hostess set that will be in the new catalog coming out January 18.

Next up are some bookmarks I made for three 3rd grade girls that I teach a book club with at my son's school.  I made these for them using a sneak peek flower set called Petal Pizazz that will be in the new catalog also.
The final project I want to show you is a Love card using a new Valentine bundle that will be on sale starting tomorrow.

Card Recipe Challenge#28

This is my card this week for Tamara's Recipe card challenge #28.  The challenge this week was these three things:

-Use red and white
-use a heart
-use a household item

The first two items are pretty apparent.  The household item is the paperclip.  It's more of an office supply but it went so well with the color scheme!

I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday.  Yippee!  Most of it is wrapped too.  Now if I would just get my Christmas cards addressed and out in the mail.  How is your holiday prep coming together?

Recipe Challenge #26

This is my card for this week's recipe challenge design team.  I came up with the challenge this week - it was to use rub-ons, eyelets and ribbon.
My rub-ons are from the chit chat rub-on set and it is the Be My Valentine greeting.  The eyelets are the regal rose ones in each corner of the patterned paper and I think my ribbon is obvious!  I used the Love Olways set from the Holiday mini.  Check out what the rest of the design team came up with on Tamara's blog here. 

i don't have a lot of chitchat today.  My husband's birthday is today.  We went out to dinner on Saturday night so we'll stay home and I'll be making a roast beef dinner tonight.  He's usually a steak man but I think a roast will suit him just fine too!  Have a good one!

Valentine and a card from a friend

Whew! It's been a busy week!  Sometimes I just don't know where the time goes!  I finally got some time to sit down and stamp tonight.  The swirl in the background is a sizzix die called Swirls and Scribbles.  I have been wanting to use this for awhile.  I wish I had wide rose red ribbon though.  It would show up better then.  The stamp set comes from the holiday mini and is called A Happy Heart.  So many cute images in this set!  Here's the full recipe:

Isn't it so cute and sparkly?  She says she case'd it and tweaked it a bit.  I just love the colors, the sparkles, and the scallops!

I get to go do a taste test with my 10 year old tomorrow.  We get paid to taste test pizza rolls and give them our opinion.  I love getting paid to do these kinds of studies!  I just wish I could do them every week.

Valentine's card, mini tutorial, and rub-ons special!

I made this Valentine's card with the Owl set from the Holiday mini catalog.  I loved the layout and details on this card by fatcatstamper so I case'd it on my card.
For the chocolate chip circle I paper pierced around it with my pick a petal classy brass template.  What a slick way to get paper piercing around a circle!  I'm not sure you can see it on my card but it's there!  I decided I would do a mini tutorial to show you how it's done.  I'm under strict instructions by my 8 year old, Sam, to let you know he took the pictures.

Mini tutorial:
First I paper pierced the circle on the chocolate chip cardstock.  Then I punched out the circle with the 1 3/8" circle punch.  Very easy!
