Walrus Easel

This was another card we made for my stamp club this month.  It's called an Easel card.  Your recipient can display the card you send them for all to see.  Isn't that what we really want?  We hate the thought of our lovely card just getting tossed in the trash!

Recipe: Stamps: Cold and Cuddly, Christmas punch(level 2 hostess set)

Ink:  Basic Gray, Soft Suede, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal

Other:  3 inch circle cut with my circle scissors plus, scallop circles#2(I have been using this one a lot lately!), scallop oval punch, button, stampin' dimensionals

Dashing Dasher

Can you stand another Dasher card?  I hope so cuz I'm not putting this stamp down for a very long time!  I cased this card from Amy.  I changed the colors, papers, and a few of the details.  We made this at stamp club this month.

Recipe:

Stamps: Dasher, Holiday Best(greeting-Level 1 hostess set)

Ink:  Chocolate chip, Old Olive, Real Red

Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White, Garden Green, Merry Moments designer paper

Other:  scallp circles#2 sizzix die, eyelet border punch, Little Leaves sizzlit die, tag punch, Movers and Shapers tag(layered under tag punch), 1/4" circle punch, petals-a-plenty embossing folder

Let's Talk Turkey!

I made these fun turkey treat holders for my stamp club ladies and hostesses this month.  They are a complete case from Connie of Constantly Stamping.  You can see her video tutorial on these treat holders here.

I keep thinking they remind of the NBC logo - NBC proud as a peacock.  Do you remember this?  LOL!

More Dasher

When I get on a kick with a stamp set I can't stop using it.  That's the case with this Dasher stamp.  I can't get enough of it!  I used a sketch from the Mojo Monday blog. 

A sketch is just a starting point so I tweaked it a bit to make it work for me.  The sketch was for a square card but I made mine a standard card size and moved around some of the elements. Here's my card:

Ink:  Soft Suede, Real Red

Paper:  Whisper White, Soft Suede, Real Red, Christmas Cocoa designper paper from the Holiday mini

Other:  3 inch circle cut from the circle scissors plus, scallop circles#2 sizzix die, wide oval punch, label from the Matchbox sizzix die, petals-a-plenty embossing folder, 3/4" circle punch, boho blossoms punch, real red narrow grosgrain ribbon, stampin' dimensionals

Halloween Downer

I can't believe Halloween is over!  We hosted about 20 teenagers here for a Halloween party for my daughter, Rebecca.  Rebecca and her two best friends were busy making halloween appetizers all day on Saturday getting ready for their party.  They had a fun party and no mishaps. I call that good!

The Halloween bummer was that my middle one, Nicholas, has the flu so he couldn't go trick-or-treating.  After the initial disappointment he took it well and made the best of it.  My husband, Doug, bought him a huge bag of candy of his own.  He dumped it into a pillowcase just like he had gone trick-or-treating and then he traded candy with his little brother, Sam, after Sam got back from trick-or-treating.  That's one of Nick's favorite Halloween traditions.  He also sat in his skeleton costume slumped in a chair inside the door so that people thought he was a dummy.  Then he would suddenly move - scaring the people.  He took delight in that!  Here he is slumped in the chair.

 

And this is Nick when he "woke up" to scare people.

Now that Halloween is over I have a wedding card to share with you.  Yes, a wedding card.  One of my downline, Stephanie, got married in October.  So I made this card for her using the Best Wishes and More stamp set.

Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo

Paper:  Whisper White, Raspberry Lemonade dp, Thoroughly Modern dp, Crushed Curry

Other:  1 3/4" circle punch, scallop from the baskets and blooms sizzix die.
