It's a challenge coming up with new and cute recipe cards each month for my recipe club but it's a challenge I enjoy! I love to use punch art in my pages because it adds so much and my clubbers love it! This was a particularly putzy card but worth it in the end! We started out weaving 1/2 strips of Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla cardstock to form the checkerboard pattern. I got this idea from Lorie's recipe card. I wanted to make some kind of chef for my recipe card. I started out with this chef from Lynn but I veered off and came up with my own guy borrowing an idea or two along the way.
Recipe: Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
Punch art chef: large oval in Blushing Bride cardstock for head, heart punch in blushing bride for ears(cut heart in half), circle punch from punch pack trio in blushing bride for nose. Medium circle from owl punch for eyelids in blushing bride. Medium circle from owl punch in whisper white for eyes. Double circle punch(pig nose punch) in basic black for eyeballs. 1/2 of red circle from the medium circle in owl punch for mouth. Boho blossom punch in basic black for hair. The negative from the curly label punch for the mustache. Butterfly punch in Very Vanilla for top of chef hat. 1/2 x 1 inch strip of very vanilla with corners rounded for brim of chef's hat. I sponged around the chef's hat with Sahara Sand ink and around the large oval punch with Regal Rose ink.
other supplies: Tastetrim Sizzix die(for large ric rac)
Here is what the dish looks like.
The picture on this dish doesn't do it justice. It is quite tasty! This recipe came from Wendi too. I have one more recipe to share with you from recipe club in the next day or so.
My daughter and I are out Black Friday shopping today. We don't go at 4:00 or 5:00. I can't get her out of bed quite that early. I hope to be out there by 6:30. We've been doing this for about 5 years and it's a great bonding day for us! How about you? Are you tackling the crowds today!
